Went with Mr. Alexander of PomphretCon[n]. to F[airfax] C[ourthouse] to distribute some boxes for his people.\u00a0 How grateful the soldiers are!\u00a0 Distributed many books to Cavalry.<\/p>\n<p>Eve[ning].\u00a0 Sick men came in from hospitals.\u00a0 Fed &amp; cared for some 213 men.\u00a0 Was up all night.\u00a0 Got the men off at 4 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>All day the sick came in.\u00a0 We fed &amp; cheer\u2019d &amp; helped.\u00a0 Had many very good conversations, found the men well disposed &amp; serious.\u00a0 At 4 p.m. signs of a move.\u00a0 At six all pack\u2019d.\u00a0 A grand march forward.\u00a0 We came to head quarters.\u00a0 Station was entered by Rebs. During night. \u2026 Call\u2019d at Armory Hosp[ital] to see Capt.
