Stinson\u2019s colored boy has come in to get some sugar.\u00a0 Now he has gone.\u00a0 This makes me think of two things: the boy &amp; the sugar.\u00a0 This boy is about as big as our \u201cTom\u201d but you never saw our Tom.\u00a0 He is about the size of Mr. Blain\u2019s oldest (is his name Walter?)\u00a0 He has curly hair, black eyes, but his skin is not exactly black \u2026<\/p>\n<p>The sugar comes in a barrel.\u00a0 Capt. Bullock our new commissary brought it and for fun these little colored boys would put their hands in the barrel too often where it was deposited.\u00a0 The Capt. put it in my tent.<\/p>\n<p>Evening.\u00a0 I have just received a budget of letters from Mamma.\u00a0 She tells papa the sad news that Guy learns something wrong almost every day.\u00a0 Papa hopes &amp; prays that his little boys may strive to do right every day.\u00a0 Do you try hard to do the things you know Jesus loves?\u00a0 Papa finds it hard to do what he knows to be right but he prays &amp; asks God to help him.<\/p>\n<p>Your two Ambrotypes don\u2019t look as if\u00a0 you would do wrong.\u00a0 They are very sweet children.\u00a0 Give much love for papa all around and pray for papa in real honesty.\u00a0 Very lovingly your father, O.O.
